My name is Benno, I am the developer of traktor pro. I have been using traktor since early 2000. You're right, the buttons behave like hotcues, but in traktor 2 this was not the case. I'm sorry for the confusion, but I hope you like the new features in Traktor Pro 3 !
Glad to hear that you liked the video. I think you may be coming from a former version of traktor, since the buttons behave like the hotcues. If you are coming from traktor 2, then you have to press the button to have the effects applied (which is what you normally do with the hotcues). You will also notice that the colorFX are still there and working as they should. I will make a note to change this behavior.
