InDesign creates a single .epub file containing the XHTML-based content. To view the file, you need an EPUB reader. You can also use the Adobe Digital Editions reader, that you can download free from the Adobe website.

For the folks who stick exclusively to Android products, try using the EPUBator app for file conversion. It downloads straight to your smartphone or tablet. With this software, you can convert PDF files quickly and easily.
The National Archives Museum has taken our latest exhibition catalog straight to digital to offer it to a wider audience and it’s free. “Spirited Republic: Alcohol in American History” is an exhibition on view at the National Archives in Washington, DC March 6, 2015 through January 10, 2016.
A division of the Internet Archive, Open Library(Opens in a new window) is devoted specifically to ebooks and audiobooks. Hosting more than 3 million books, the site offers classic books that you can read online or download as epub or PDF files. Acting as a real library, Open Library also features more modern books that you can borrow for 14 days and read online.
Beyond browsing all the titles, you can search for specific books based on title, author, publisher, date, and more. Select a book that intrigues you to see a full description and other details. Click the Download button to download the title as an epub file.
Browse for titles by category, including fiction, non-fiction, academic, textbooks, and audiobooks. Then drill down to specific genres, such as business, computers, health, history, psychology, web design, and writing. Choose a book that interests you to see a description and preview of the first few pages. You can then download it in PDF, epub, Kindle, or text format. Audiobooks are available as MP3 or Apple M4B files, however, downloading them requires a VIP plan.
As of June 2015 BN changed encryption method and no longer uses credit card. No PC desktop application (Nook for PC or Nook Study will properly generate the encryption key, and the website no longer allows downloads. The ONLY working method is to use a win 8.1 or win 10 machine with the app from the store. This correctly downloads and generates the encrytion key. Calibre with Alf DeDRM does work on these books. The Nook app downloaded epubs are stored in a new place, users app data local packages BN. You canpoint calibre with plugin there.
download nook for pc 2.5.6 I found it on Epubsoft.com website. log into your account open the book you want to dl then close it go to my stuff click add new item it will save it pay attention to what folder then go documents on your pc you should see a folder called my Barnes and Noble ebooks the book should be there you can do whatever you want to do with it then.
I purchases a book from the Barnes and Noble website but there was no download link for the epub file like they use too. I was able to view the ebook on my android tablet just fine, but I wanted the epub file as a backup just in case something happen. After a lot of research I was able to download the epub file and remove the DRM encryption. Here are the steps and please post a comment if this works for you.
The first step to reading your book is to download it to the device on which you'll read it. After your purchase, you have a few opportunities to download it. First, after you complete your payment, the order details page has a link from which you can download the ebook file. Click this link to download the file straight to your device. If you don't download it then, you can always return to (you may need to sign in), and click on the order number to go back to the details page and download it. Thirdly, we'll also send you an email with a link to the file in the same way as the order details screen.
I downloaded a non-Apple epub on my iPhone running IOS 16.0.2. I then opened Files and the Download folder and tapped the newly downloaded epub. It opened. Closing the file showed it as the most recent addition to Apple Books (which I confirmed by opening Apple Books on my computer).
It looks pretty good straight out of the box, and you can use the plugin settings page to fine-tune it as needed. For example, you can change how the download links work, and which columns appear in the table.
Now we need to find that book file we just downloaded. I noticed that the B&N books appear to be in the format 123456789_epub.Vx.epub. That is, a bunch of numbers + _epub+a version number+.epub extension.
"I left iBooks behind and this has been my go-to reading app. It doesn't do some of the annoying things that the iBooks app does and it's pretty straight forward. Out of the many reading apps I've downloaded over the years, this is one of my favorites."
Some basic things I have come to enjoy, and would not want to give up, is first of all, the ability to use my own ebooks to browse Project Gutenberg's catalog (as I showed in -books-your-ereader ), where my current ebook reader (not in your list, and I presume not open source) will internally go to PG's website and be able to download a book directly to the reader -- it also allows you to view the book in HTML onsite to decide if you want to download it. It seems to have its own internal browser.I also have the ability to look up a word or phrase straight from the reader to Firefox or Google -- you highlight the phrase, then click DEFINE. If it's a foreign word or passage, you click TRANSLATE, in which case it goes straight to Google Translate with the passage, and you back-click to return to the reader afterward. Very convenient.
Hi.I cannot get this to work. I think it is setup right. The problem is that my nook simple touch glowlight hides the books in a partition (I think) so calibre cannot access it. As I am a UK customer, even though I managed to find a download of nook4pc for my windows7 pc, it defaults to the USA .com site so I cannot download my books to my PC. I am a bit stuck. Finally, there does not seem to be any feature on the UK nook site for downloading a book to a pc. Does anyone know where I can get help or advice?ThanksDavid
David:I am also in the UK and like you have set up Nook for PC; I cannot see any of my UK Nook purchases, though the three free classic novels I downloaded to my Nook are there. The only solution I could find was to install Nook for Android on my phone, copy the epub files to my PC and import into Calibre from there. Do you have an Android device?
Used the method above. Imported ~80 books from B&N nook4pc. All downloaded from same account and at same time. 50 book came though fine to Calibre and 30 are still locked. How can i get the last 30 unlocked?
When I download a nook EPUB, with the DRM removal stuff installed, once I open the EPUB, is the DRM permanently gone from the file, or do I have to "convert" my EPUB into another EPUB that would have the DRM removed? 2b1af7f3a8
